Los Angeles:

Los Angeles is the second most populated city in the United States with a population of roughly 8 million people.

Films and entertainment are perhaps what first comes to mind when Los Angeles is mentioned, and that’s hardly a surprise when you consider how many blockbusters are produced there. Hollywood Boulevard is one of the most popular streets filled with shops, museums, famous landmarks and of course the walk of fame. To enjoy everything that this street has to offer, you would need to spend at least a full day so make sure to get up early and prepare yourself for an exciting and busy day.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is another popular destination for both tourists and locals to visit. This 135 acres big theme park will make you feel as if you are part of some of the most classic Disney films such as Star Wars and Toy Story. You’ll also get the chance to meet your favourite Disney characters and try some fun rides.

During hot days, why not relax in the iconic Santa Monica Beach and cooling yourself off in the water. You can easily get to the beach by taking a metro from downtown Los Angeles which takes less than an hour. Los Angeles has gained a reputation for being a city of entertainment and rightly so. There are endless activities for everyone no matter your taste.

Miami:

Miami is a city in the state of Florida, located southeast of the US. Miami is particularly known for its beautiful sandy beach and buzzing nightlife which attracts party goers from all around the world. The climate is usually warm with around 248 days of sun per year, much to the delight of people who want to sunbathe, go swimming and take a run on the beach.

Miami has a large Latin American and especially Cuban influence. Cuban immigrants have a long history in Miami which you can notice during your stay here. There are many restaurants along with museums, theatres and monuments that have been inspired by their rich culture, and don’t be surprised if people greet or talk to you in Spanish at first.

For anyone interested in sports, be sure to attend a basketball game and watch the Miami Heat play – a team that is loved by the locals. There are several games per week and tickets can be purchased fairly easily for most matches.

If you are a shopaholic, you’ll be pleased to know that Sawgrass Mills, Florida’s biggest shopping mall is based in Miami. With over 370 shops, you’re bound to find new garments for your collection.

New York:

New York, also known as the Big Apple is the most visited city in the US with over 50 million tourists annually. This hardly comes as a surprise when you look at what the city has to offer. World class shopping in Fifth Avenue, a large selection of Broadway shows, the fantastic Central Park and of course the iconic Statue of Liberty. The list can go on and on hence why New York is often referred to as the “City that Never Sleeps”. NY is a very multicultural city with around 200 languages spoken in total between all the residents. Roughly 40% of the population are born outside of the US which makes it one of the most multicultural cities in the country.

Being such an influential city, many international festivals, concerts and sports competitions are held annually. No matter when you visit, be sure to expect some kind of exciting event.

This lively city will never make you feel bored and will keep you hungry to discover more and more. New York is an ideal location for people who love big cities and meeting people from all around the world.

 

San Francisco:

San Francisco is a Californian city with a population of just under 1 million people. The city is beautiful and unique in its own way with steep rolling hills and a mix of modern and old architecture. You can travel around the city by using traditional cable cars and streetcars which is very similar to many European cities. San Francisco is often recognised by the Golden Gate Bridge. The 1.7 miles long bridge was built in 1937 and is the most iconic monument of the city. You may have seen it in films, but viewing it in real life is something else – it’s truly stunning. The former Alcatraz prison is located in San Francisco, and tours are offered for anyone who is curious to enter and see how the prisoners lived before it closed in 1963.

Yosemite national park is a fantastic park located very close to San Francisco center. Enjoy the view of waterfalls, beautiful huge trees, valleys and rare wild animals if you are lucky. Here you can take long peaceful walks or hike to the top of the beautiful mountains. Why not camp and explore as much as possible of this park that stretches over 3,027 km².
