Great news if you want to study in the UK – No quarantine needed for fully vaccinated EU tourists
Updated: Aug 5
The government of the United Kingdom has this week announced that travelers who have received their two doses of Covid-19 jabs from any EU country or the US will be exempt from having to quarantine.
Previously, tourists from countries who were listed in the amber zone (medium risk zone) would have to quarantine for 10 days upon entering the UK – something that made it more or less impossible for tourists to visit England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.
Many travel agencies and tourists felt the rules were too harsh as no quarantine were needed if you had been vaccinated in the UK. In other words, you could have had the exact same vaccine as a UK citizen, but from an EU country and have different rules applied to you.
The welcoming change of rules will apply from Monday, the 2nd of August, but a negative Covid-19 test is required before arriving. Tourists also have to take a PCR-test on the second day of entering the country.
